At NatWest Thrive we want to transform the way young people think and learn about money and help them build the skills, self-belief and confidence they need to build a stronger financial future.
Almost half of UK teens feel uncertain about their future* and 57% of 12–17-year-olds don’t feel confident enough to manage their money**. So we’ve collaborated with teachers and other key partners such as Marcus Rashford and The National Youth Agency to create a transformative financial education and skill building programme, offering activities, games and challenges for young people, both inside and outside the classroom.
Our content is designed to be practical and interactive to suit different learning styles and empower young people to own their future. We use role models and real-life scenarios to develop bitesize pieces of curriculum-linked content that promote discussion, inspire self-belief and motivate action. So, whether they’re doing chores to top up their pocket money or preparing for their next side hustle, we’re here to help.
We want to help young people develop a positive mindset around money as well as develop the skills they need for the future world of work. Young people who have taken part in our NatWest Thrive youth club programme with the NYA feel good about what they’ve learnt. 73% said they now had a clear plan for their future. 87% said they had developed new skills to help them build their future 54% felt more able to manage their own money***
NatWest has been committed to improving young people’s financial confidence for nearly 30 years, helping one million students every year to build better financial know-how, gain confidence, and take action towards owning the future they want.
Our approach goes beyond just providing resources; we are actively building a comprehensive ecosystem of support for young people, teachers, parents, and communities. Through this ecosystem, we aim to transform the way young people feel about money and their future, empowering them to make confident financial decisions and build a brighter tomorrow.
