Financial education provision mapping 2024 – sign up to get involved

From Autumn 2024, MaPS will be undertaking a provision mapping exercise to build an up-to-date picture of financial education programmes for children and young people across the UK. The research will identify trends and gaps in provision to inform the work of the financial education sector. We are inviting all financial education funders and providers to get involved, so we can ensure the research reflects the wealth of activity taking place across the UK. Find out more about the research and how to take part.

Talk Money Week – 4th-8th November 2024

Talk Money Week is the annual campaign that aims to get people across the UK talking about money. This year, MaPS is inviting partners, organisations and businesses across the UK to encourage their own audiences to Do One Thing that could help improve their financial wellbeing. Talk Money Week is a great opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of financial education and make a noise about the work you do to improve children and young people’s money skills. Find tools to help you get involved at: maps.org.uk/en/our-work/talk-money-week

CYP in low-income households and financial education research

The latest wave of MaPS’ CYP Financial Wellbeing Survey from 2022 showed that there are groups of children and young people who are less likely to receive a meaningful financial education and have strong money skills, and therefore are susceptible to poorer financial wellbeing. These groups included children and young people who live in low-income households. Expanding on this research, this new qualitative research project will focus on the experiences of money for children and young people living in low-income households. This project will be completed by the end of March 2025.
