We have created three free toolkits for teachers, parents and youth workers all of which provide a broad range of ready-to-go activities and materials for that are easily used for home learning with children and young people aged 4 upwards. We felt that these would be the best way of supporting the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum in a home learning environment.
Yes! My Money Week will take place in June as planned. Our Trusts team are getting in touch with all our incredible funders to explain the impact of Covid19 on the delivery of our programmes and how this may affect our reporting to you. If we haven’t been in touch with you yet please do contact Donna Wells, our Director of Philanthropy, donna.wells@y-e.org.uk
While schools are closed, it is not possible to comply with our safeguarding obligations using Skype (or similar technology) to keep in touch using video calls.
Contact the school Centre Lead (usually a Teacher) to establish how you can best support the team through the final stages of their experience. You can also contact your local YE Area Manager who will be able to advise you on some useful good practice as well as what should be avoided as we go through this difficult period.
Get in touch with your local YE Area Manager or your local Volunteer Board contact if you have one to let them know about your plans for September and find out about what is happening in your locality or region.
This very much depends when schools return to normal timetabling. If this happens before September, we could run these sessions before the end of term, either face to face or remotely using technology. If not, we are looking at ways of doing so when they do return to ensure the learning is embedded and the experience of their participation is reviewed for their use in future
Day Programmes are booked at all times during the year, but the majority take place in the third (Summer Term). Your local YE Area Manager will be able to help you with details of any programmes currently already booked and to register your interest as a volunteer as necessary. We are in the process of developing a Volunteer Portal so that all volunteering opportunities will be available on-line in future.
